Why Do Most Cold Calls Turn People Off?

Dressed-up monkey in a picture frameMaybe there’s a place for those cut-rate call centers, but you should consider what they’ll do to your reputation and credibility.

When prospective clients ask how much we charge to make cold calls on their behalf, they often say, “I can get it cheaper, a lot cheaper.” True enough. I know, because many cut-rate callers have actually offered me their services!

Recently I received a call from one of these low-cost call centers calling on behalf of a client of theirs, trying to solicit York Consulting’s IT contract. I still can’t believe that any reputable company would risk destroying their image.

I’m sure there’s a place for the cut-rate approach, but it’s not at York Consulting.

We’re not bare-bones cheap because we care too much about our clients’ reputation and credibility, so we pay more to train and hire professionals who can have knowledgeable, authoritative, no-pressure, peer-to-peer conversations with Directors, VPs and C-level executives. Listen to the difference.
